1 YEAR OLD! Happy Birthday Reese :)

I honestly don't remember if we've slept a lot this month. But the girls have been pretty happy. Reese is very animated and vocal right now. She will immediately voice her displeasure if you take away or don't give her an item. And I know all moms say their kids are loud, but many people in the grocery store have confirmed that she has a set of lungs. We have been given several free balloons in hopes of keeping her quiet.

Reese figures out how things work pretty quickly; loves to put things in containers (cleaning up toys  throwing laundry into the basket etc), and loves to push butttons. I have to hide the remote, my phone and the IPAD or she will scream until I let her see it. I put music on the TV often in the morning, she will stare at it for a second realize that it is indeed NOT cartoons then let me know she is not pleased, ha!

She's pretty quick about getting up the stairs when I let her, and can get off the couch by herself or down stair or two. She will be walking very soon, cruises on everything and walks around with the shopping cart. Raegan and her are starting to play more together which is really fun. Reese will laugh at pretty much anything Rae does, which Rae eats up.

Reese didn't get her own party this year, other than the small family party since Rae has a big party with all of their friends from stroller strides and mom group. I'll have to figure out how to get 2 parties for them in the next year or two. Lots of work just a week apart...maybe we'll do Disneyland next year :)

Loves playing in big sisters room
This is what happens if you turn your head for 10 seconds
Still loves eating dirt...
Checking out Oso's teeth and poking him in the eye

She's starting to walk around with the shopping cart, walking is just around the corner
She thinks she's bigger than Oso
@ Big sisters birthday party
First taste of cake & frosting. Loved the fire, hence Dads arm right there
Pretty sure she likes it
Happy Kiddo
Testing out the new dome climber
Her favorite chair, loves to sit and rock in it

11 months - the great outdoors

Everyone in the house is just getting over a nasty flu...it has been a loooong week. Other than that things are moving along well. Reese is as active and opinionated as ever. She LOVES being outside, the only problem with that is there is so much in the back yard that she tries to eat (rocks, dirt, sticks, random red berries, dog toys, leaves) that I have to constantly move stuff out of her path or retrieve them from her mouth. She is cruising along the furniture well now, she is pretty stable and sure footed which is nice, though she still likes to roll and lead with her head off of things.

Lately she wants nothing to do with baby food (puffs/fruit & veg packets) she wants the real deal only. Which is nice, but less convenient on the go.

I have her down to 1 nap (pushed it a bit early) but she was taking to really short naps, so 1 2 hour nap that overlaps with Rae's makes life a bit easier for everyone and we get out more, which we all like.

Making a break for the back yard, the door no longer get left open for Oso for this very reason.
Pretending it's cold here ;)
Reese trying to play with Oso. He's a little over it, but usually really tolerant to being smacked in the face,
and shrieked at. Though he does not share his toys, just like big sis.
Eey everyone loves blackberries in January! Bonus of living in SoCal.

Rae "trying" to carry Reese whom is over 25lbs.

Ah stairs, she loves them, I usually block them off.
Loves looking at all the trees in the backyard
And those weird ball things that fall of the trees...a few have been ingested
Hanging with G'ma Lulu
Still so squishy, so fun to hug and cuddle!

Very interested in Oso's teeth and nose..
Busted. This is what happens, every single time we go outside.
I just stick her in her stained footies everyday and let her go for it, she has a ball.
Stole Raegan's kefir packet...waaay better than the baby packets.
Oso has a partner in crime, they both like to dig in the mud

She gets super excited when she plays with this, makes the ball drop, music goes off, she claps...does it over and over. Very cute

Raegan's favorite new things is to tackle hug Reese, this is one of the gentler ones.
Not as gentle...
At a superbowl party right before leaving...she was ready to go.

42 weeks - Miss personality/Into everything

Lots of new developments in the last few weeks!

Reese has been crawling since mid December. She's now quite speedy when she wants to check something out. She also pulls up to a stand on almost everything and is starting to cruise a little bit on her baby jail bars, plus she has figured out how to sit from a stand (must be easy with all the padding to plop back down)... so I don't have to help her get down once she pulls up. Along with crawling I have noticed her eating waaay more stuff off the floor, which means I need to clean the house more often. Add insult to injury... Oso is starting to blow his coat and the house will be covered with malamute hair for the next month or so, and I am sure Reese will gladly eat it given the opportunity.

2 more teeth came in mid December also, which brings us to 8. And she seems like the molar are starting to bug her too, so those might appear in the near future.

Reese is pretty outgoing & social now, the separation anxiety is wearing off. She now claps when she is happy, which is usually when she is eating or gets to eat. For example whenever she finds a tasty morsel of something or other on the floor she picks it up, eats it, then smiles & claps. The other morning when I came in her room to get her up for the day and feed her, I was greeted by her sitting up in her bed smiling, she started clapping when she saw me. Happy clapping baby, works for me! She will also wave on occasion, but we are still working on it. DADADADADA is her new go to "word" amongst other chatty noises, she has a lot to say recently. Her opinionatedness (if thats a word) is as strong as ever. If she wants something (your food/your drink/Rae's toys/Your phone) she will scream as if someone smacked her. Quite effective, well played little sister.

Baths are now like going to a splash park, everyone gets wet. Rae & Reese LOVE splashing each other, unlike her big sister Reese doesn't seem to mind getting her head/face wet. She has slid under water a few times, only to pop back up smiling and keeps splashing.

Both girls had a great time opening up gifts on Christmas, so happy that Justin was off to spend it with us.

Pretty sure she snatched the camera out of my hand after this photo,
its getting harder and harder to take pics of her when she is near me.

9 months - Yum Yum Yum

Reese now has 6 teeth and is sleeping a little better, phew! She will eat anything within reach, chews really well and is actually pretty advanced for her age in the eating department, which has been nice. I don't have to worry about her gagging on chunks at all. She grabbed a full string cheese from her sister the other day and ate the whole thing in about 20 seconds. I cannot eat anything while holding her unless I share, otherwise she protests loudly.

She's not quite crawling yet except for backwards, but does everything else. She's definitely strong, pulls up on everything and does plank & down dog. She's opinionated & curious, loves to dump Rae's bins of toys all over the ground and roll in them and pull all her books off the shelf. Its messy but keeps her happy and busy. She started clapping the other day and waves excitedly every once in a while. Most of her noise are growls and shrieks but I do get mamama when she's upset and babababa a lot.

Naps are much better, she usually naps 2x's a day for 1.5 hrs a time. I do mess with them a lot so we can get out of the house otherwise we'd be stuck at home from 10am to 4pm. She'll usually get a 20 min powernap on the go if we skip her first nap of the day which makes her second nap fall at the same time as Rae's, which means I can nap too or have some time to myself YESSSS. So we do that at least a few times a week.

Showing the broccoli who's boss
Happy kiddo, getting more teeth.
With Grandpa Doug & Uncle Josh in Cardiff
We've resorted to eating shirtless with a bib directly due to the
amount of laundry that is created with her eating 3x's a day.
Double wide @ Costco,  Reese seems very excited ;)
Wild Animal park day trip with some of the Stroller Strides moms.
Driving big sis nuts by playing with all her toys
Bath time is so much easier now that they can be in the tub together. Reeese LOVES baths, splashes the entire time.

8 months old - Movin' Movin'

Both girls are just getting over colds, so the last week has been rough sleep and patience wise. I'm very thankful I didn't really get sick...whew. But I guess the last 2 months have been harder sleep wise anyway. So sad that the 10 hours of straight sleep for Reese are gone, but its to be expected, I'm lucky I had a good sleeper for 6 months. She gets up usually 2 or 3 times a night right now. Partially because she's moving all over the place when she sleeps, and then when she wakes she needs to see mom. Hmmm naps, she seems to be moving towards one already, she'll take a nice long nap around noon, and then only a 20 min one early evening. If I could get both girls on one nap at the same time I.would.be.estatic!

She's definitely trying to crawl right now, but pretty much doing everything but. She scoots, rolls, drags her lower half around with her arms in a seated position, army crawls in a circular motion, head plants, and is starting to do the funky crawl that Rae did from a seated position with one leg tucked ha. Grabs at everything, and she appears to have a Greg Roth reach on her, always seems to get things I don't think she could possibly reach. And when I'm holding her on my hip, she leans in to get in my line of sight, stares right at me for at least 5 seconds and gives me a huge smile...just saying hi, cracks me up every time. I love it.

Her new sound is a happy growl, usually when she eats, and occasionally a hum, which Rae thinks is hillarious. They hum back and forth and laugh at each other.

2nd bottom tooth came in, 3rd bottom one is about to break through & possibly a top. Im crossing my fingers that she starts crawling and gets her teeth in that are close so she can start sleeping a bit better. Justin and I both seem to running on fumes right now. Need to get some energy back asap. Poor Rae has been fussier than normal lately, I'm pretty sure it's due to Justin & I being tired. But we have Thanksgiving, Christmas (Justin has BOTH off, we lucked out) and cooler weather on the horizon. I'm excited!

Happy Kiddo
Still chubby, but leaning out a lil...maybe
Crazy eyes, she's excited to be standing on her own
Squishy baby sisters are fun to lay on
Before Stroller Strides Halloween Carnival
Post trick or treating she did really well, didn't cry until we got in the car to go home
Starting to get more mobile
Loves to stick her tongue out, nearly impossible to check out her incoming teeth
Getting some use out of our winter beanie, it was a cool 85 out ;)
Such a sweetie, love her
